Janet’s passion for yoga began 8 years ago when her Dads Alzheimer diagnosis thrust her into the role of primary caregiver. These responsibilities, combined with balancing a full-time career and a busy blended family left her feeling depleted, burnt out and in search of an outlet to relieve stress. One hot yoga class was all it took to make her realize the beneficial physical, mental and spiritual possibilities. One class became two, then three, then a routine became her passion and then finally became an obsession to learn, to grow and ultimately to share through teaching. In 2017, Janet took her 200-hour Teacher Training at Soul Fitness Mind Body Studios in St. Albert, where she continues to teach today. Janet believes Yoga is for everyone, regardless of age, ability, agility or flexibility and that everyone can benefit from the experience. She believes Yoga is about working to fulfill your expectations and goals, not someone else’s. She teaches Karuna and Hatha Yoga promoting movement that builds stability and works for your body type and ability. She provides a safe space, free of stress and intimidation. Yoga is individual to each person and personality and Janet teaches with that understanding.
