Get ready for a new movement that will change the way you feel.
Wednesdays 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm AND Fridays 9:30 am - 10:30 am
When we have the ability to move in all directions on all planes we call this 12 degrees of freedom. The integrity in strength is limited by movement and space. In this class we challenge you to move in all directions and then build on that movement. Using weight to create awareness in how you are engaging in movment builds tissue that supports the whole rather than just parts of the body.
Repetitive movement patterns practiced over and over in the same way will only develop certain myofascial pathways that are loaded which leave nearby fascia untrained. Over time this can create imbalances that cause pain which can become chronic. Some lead us to believe that age causes this however we believe otherwise and with specific refined movement we can create stability, strength and reciliency regardless of which direction you are moving.
Mondays 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm AND Thursdays 9:30 am - 10:30 am
To effect the neuropathways in relation to movement, fascia is the focus, with six times the number of receptors compared to muscles. How we approach "stretching" is without the no pain no gain attitude and learn to understand the different sensations in the body. Force creates resistance so pulling tissue to it's fullest extent may provide short term results however in the long run reduces the plaibility and elasticity which reduces strength and power. Fascia responds to movement at all times so when we move into a position that we don't normally, like a fall on the ice for example, there is little support for the tissue to absorb and then bounce back from the sudden movement.
Beginning with the deeper tissues in the body we create space and develop mobility without pain by incorporating fascial release with rolling of specific lines of the webbing and engaging into tissue synergistically. The results are increased mobility and space to move. More mobility, more strength. Now consider the possibility that chronic pain could be reduced.
Wednesdays 9:30 am - 10:30 am AND Wednesdays 6:45 pm - 7:45 pm
A practice moving thought and energy to make space for what serves and supports you through the developement of consciousness. "What you think you become" can impact your actions by identifying thoughts through observation of movement in the body, sensations from that movement and then the stillness inside of the movement . We become aware of what we are holding in our beliefs and thoughts that just don't align with our life purpose. Once there is space then of course, there is movement.
This practice is a simple yet effective way to observe thought and change your state and as we practice it becomes a more efficient process.
